For several years, MEAEOPP has been participating in Macy’s Shop for a Cause. On Saturday, August 23, 2014, Macy’s will host its 9th annual Shop For A Cause benefiting charities nationwide. The great thing about it is you pay $5 for a shopping pass which entitles you to the discount listed below, while MEAEOPP receives 100% of the cost of the pass to further our mission, service and advocacy.
Passes are only valid in stores on August 23, 2014. When you Shop For A Cause on Saturday, August 23, 2014, you’ll receive 25% off* on regular, sale and clearance merchandise, including designer brands you love, throughout the store, as well as 10% off electronics, furniture, mattresses and area rugs. And, you will be eligible to win a $500 gift card, no purchase necessary.

Wednesday, Sept. 19 – Make one more round of calls to the education staff for your House Representative and Senators and reinforce your request for them to fight to increase TRIO funding!
Tuesday, Sept. 18 – Draft a 250 word opinion letter to your local paper about the importance to TRIO in your community.
Monday, Sept. 17 – Ask three friends or neighbors outside of TRIO to call their House Representative in support of TRIO.
Sunday, Sept. 16 – Tweet a message to Education Secretary Arne Duncan (@ArneDuncan) and President Obama (@BarackObama) about TRIO using the hashtag #TRIOworks or #SaveTRIO. (Ask your Twitter followers to retweet!)
Saturday, Sept. 15 – Speak to your students about the crisis in TRIO funding. Invite them to write letters or postcards (paid for by you) to their House Representative about how TRIO has made a difference in their lives.
Friday, Sept. 14 – Call three alumni and ask them to call their legislators and request more TRIO funding.
